Overview

The Dornier DO-27, an evolution of the DO-25, featured newly designed wings and vertical stabilizer, integrated wing fuel tanks, and a Lycoming GO-480-B1A6 engine. These updates required a reinforced landing gear due to the heavier engine and the altered center of gravity. The prototype first flew on October 17, 1956, and the German army became a major customer, receiving its first unit on January 14, 1957, making the DO-27 the first German mass-produced motor aircraft after World War II. The scale replica of the DO-27, with Bundeswehr camouflage, combines excellent flying characteristics and a balanced drive concept for 4S LiPo batteries. The wingspan of 1600 mm, LED lighting, and large wheels make it ideal for short takeoffs, landings, and slow flights with minimal risk of stalling. Suitable for both advanced beginners and experienced pilots, the high-wing design and striking paintwork enhance stability and visibility during flight.
